Job description

Your contribution:

We organize group meetings for residents at several asylum centres in Arnhem, with special attention for vulnerable target groups. As a volunteer you choose which target group you want to work with, for instance: young people, women, LGBTQ + people or people who have trouble reading and writing. You help create a welcoming, safe space, in which residents can feel connected and get information on important themes.

In addition, you organize and supervise educational theme sessions that help residents find their way during their stay at the asylum centre. You do this together with fellow volunteers and employees. If you have refugee backgrond yourself, we especially invite you to contact us.

What will you do:

  • You organize and supervise weekly group meetings for residents of the asylum centre.

  • You help organize and give educational theme meetings (once a quarter).

  • You create a warm and safe atmosphere during meetings.

  • If necessary, you refer residents to the legal assistance of VluchtelingenWerk.

  • You are present at one or more asylum centres in Arnhem.
